Sacred Time is an app that helps Christians protect phone-free moments for prayer, family, worship, and rest by setting aside sacred windows of time and pausing selected apps or categories during those windows. This page explains what information Sacred Time uses, where it is stored, and what permissions the app requests.
Your data and iCloud backup
Your Sacred Rhythms, Sacred Windows, app or category selections, and reflection history are stored on your device. Sacred Time has no user accounts and no server-side database. We do not receive, store, or have access to this information.
If you are signed in to iCloud, Sacred Time also keeps a backup of this information, along with your notification choices, in the private iCloud storage of your own Apple Account. This lets you bring it back if you delete the app or get a new iPhone. It counts toward your iCloud storage, and only your Apple Account can read it. App selections in the backup are the same private tokens Apple provides, which do not reveal which apps you chose.
Deleting the app removes the data from your device but leaves the backup in iCloud, so it can come back if you reinstall. To remove the backup, or to stop Sacred Time using iCloud, use your iPhone’s iCloud settings.
Screen Time permission (iOS)
To pause apps during a Sacred Window, Sacred Time asks for access to Apple’s Screen Time permission (Family Controls). Apple designs this permission so that the exact apps and categories you select remain private — even from Sacred Time itself. We never see the contents of your selection; we only receive the system signals needed to apply and lift the pause you’ve chosen.
Sacred Time cannot guarantee that app blocking is unbypassable, and it cannot detect or exclude every possible emergency app. Apple’s Screen Time decides what can be blocked, and its privacy-preserving app selection means Sacred Time can’t detect emergency apps automatically. If you need to stay reachable, leave Phone and Messages unselected when you use Block specific apps, and include them when you use Allow specific apps. I need a moment, Pause, and Mark complete are always available in the app.
Sacred Time is launching first on iPhone. Android support is planned. Before any Android release, this policy will be updated to explain how Android permissions such as Usage Access are used.
Notification permission
If you allow notifications, Sacred Time uses them to send quiet reminders about upcoming or active Sacred Windows. Notifications are generated on your device and are never used for marketing.
No AI
Sacred Time does not use AI in the current app.
Purchases
Sacred Time offers an optional Premium upgrade. Payment is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment card details. Subscription management and refunds are handled through your Apple ID account settings.
The app checks with Apple whether Premium access is active. Your purchase history stays with Apple and is not sent to us or to anyone else. We can see sales reports from Apple, which do not identify you.
Children
Sacred Time is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
